How Much Does Digital Theater Scenery Actually Cost?

An ornate ballroom with chandeliers opening onto a starlit tropical balcony - one of e-llusion media's fully animated digital stage scenes
An ornate ballroom at night - one of the fully animated scenes included in our full-show productions, by e-llusion media.

The short answer: a single scene is $125, a full production pack for a show is $899, and a Junior production pack is $499. That's the entire pricing structure. There is no subscription, no per-performance fee, and no quote-request step - the prices on our shop are the prices you pay.

We publish our prices because we would want to know them too. Nothing about scenery pricing should be a mystery that starts with a contact form, so here is everything a school or community theater might want to know about what digital scenery costs and what you get for it, in plain numbers.

    The Entire Price List

$125 per scene buys any single scene from any of our shows, à la carte. Pick the three or four scenes your production actually needs and skip the rest.

$899 for a full production gets you every scene we built for the show - title scenes, location scenes, and everything in between - all under one license.

$499 for a Junior production is the same scenery built for the junior version of each show we offer, for schools and youth theaters working with shorter casts and budgets.

What a Scene Costs Inside Each Pack

Because every pack includes every scene in the show, the more scenes a show has, the less each one effectively costs. Compare any line below with $125 for a single scene bought à la carte, and the packs do most of the arguing for themselves. Here's what a single scene works out to inside each production pack:

    ShowFull production ($899)Junior production ($499)
    Into the Woods$21 (42 scenes)$19 (26 scenes)
    Frozen$26 (35 scenes)$17 (30 scenes)
    The Little Mermaid$26 (34 scenes)$18 (27 scenes)
    Matilda the Musical$31 (29 scenes)$18 (27 scenes)
    Annie the Musical$35 (26 scenes)$24 (21 scenes)
    Shrek the Musical$35 (26 scenes)$26 (19 scenes)
    Moana Jr.Jr. only$29 (17 scenes)
Effective per-scene cost inside each production pack, from the e-llusion media catalog (October 2026).

    What $125 Actually Buys

King Triton's Court from The Little Mermaid, a fully animated underwater palace scene by e-llusion media
King Triton's Court from The Little Mermaid - every scene we sell is a fully animated two-minute video, built by e-llusion media.

A single scene is a fully animated two-minute video that loops for as long as the moment needs - not a still image with a slow zoom on it. Clouds move, grasses sway, birds fly. When a scene changes location or transforms, the motion is built, not faked.

From the date of purchase until after your final performance. One purchase, one show, no meter running.

Every Scene Is Animated - Not a Slideshow

This is where we'd point out something most price comparisons never mention: not all digital scenery is animation. When you compare options, ask one question of any scene you're considering: is it fully animated, or a still image with motion added on top? A still with a slow zoom can look similar in a thumbnail, but it doesn't behave the same on stage - and it shouldn't cost what an animated scene costs.

Every scene in our catalog is animated from the ground up - moving water, drifting fog, falling snow, shimmering light - built in our edit suite with layered motion and custom effects. It's the difference between a backdrop and a living world, and it's included at the same price.

    What You Never Pay For

No subscription. No per-performance fee, no matter how many shows you run. No per-cast-member or audience-size pricing. No rental return shipping, no damage deposits, and nothing to send back when the run is over.

And no fee for a quote - because you just read the quotes.

    How Schools Actually Use This

The most common path starts small: buy the two or three scenes for your biggest number - the ballroom, the storm, the transformation - for under $500, and see how they land with your students and your audience. If projections click for your program, the full production pack is waiting, and everything you already own counts toward the same show.

Or start even smaller: request free preview scenes for your show and test them at your venue, on your projector, before you spend a dollar. Our SceneCaster playback app runs them cue by cue, exactly like the real thing.

Not sure your space is a fit? Our venue-readiness guide walks through measuring your stage, and our backdrops versus projections comparison puts the two options side by side. Then browse the shop - every price you'll find there is the one from this post.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How much does digital theater scenery cost?

At e-llusion media, a single animated scene is $125, a full production pack for a show is $899, and a Junior production pack is $499. There are no subscriptions or per-performance fees, and each purchase includes a license that runs from the date of purchase until after your final performance.

Is it cheaper to buy individual scenes or the full production?

For one or two big numbers, à-la-carte scenes at $125 are the low-risk way to start. Once you find yourself wanting several scenes from the same show, compare what those scenes add up to against the production pack that includes every scene in the show - the pack usually wins.

    Does the license expire?

Not on your production. A license runs from the date of purchase until after your final performance - rehearsals, your entire run, and any remount of the same production. It isn't a rental: nothing expires mid-run and there's nothing to send back when the show is over.

Are the scenes animations or still images?

Every e-llusion media scene is a fully animated two-minute video that loops. Moving water, drifting fog, falling snow and transforming locations are all built into the scene - we don't sell stills dressed up with a slow zoom.

Can I try the scenes before buying?

Yes. You can request free preview scenes for your show and test them at your venue on your own projector before you spend anything, using our SceneCaster playback app.
